Don't tell Donna!
This is a little awkward. My friend Donna George Storey, author of the enchantingly erotic novel Amorous Woman, is wondering what sort of mischief her protagonist, Lydia, has gotten into since sneaking out of the book and slipping off into the night.
What Donna doesn't know is that Lydia has made me an accomplice to her impetuous adventure. Specifically, Lydia asked me if she could drop by my blog for a chat. I told her I could squeeze her in this Wednesday, July 2. I don't know what's on Lydia's mind; but, knowing her, it's something X-rated—so naturally, I'm all ears. And, of course, Lydia made me promise not to say a word to Donna.
Oh, and, having read Amorous Woman, I know that Lydia is a bit of an exhibitionist. So I gather that it's not so much a tête-à-tête she's after, as a tête-à-tête-à-tête-à-tête-à-tête ... So I hope you'll all stop by on Wednesday and help me keep her satisfied.
Just don't tell Donna!

Make the zine scene
If you're in greater Montreal (and not in the middle of a saxophone solo) on the night of July 4th, you may want to make the scene at the launch party for the next issue of Lickety Split smut zine!
Though I won't be at the party, I am in the zine.
Though I won't be at the party, I am in the zine.
Foot note
I have a new story up at The Erotic Woman—a footcentric piece called "From Tip to Toe"! So if you'd like to play footsie with me, I hope you'll head on over.
Thank you, Erotic Woman!

2009 fever
Though, like most of us, I still have both feet planted squarely in '08, I have a touch of "2009 fever" today! This was triggered when I learned that my story "Slightly Ajar" would be included in illustrious editor Maxim Jakubowski's Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica 8—which, I believe, will be released around the time that '08 morphs into '09. Needless to say, I am very, very happy and excited about this!
It's too early for cover art; so, in the meantime, here's the cover of last year's edition (which contains my story "Mindy's Pheromones"). The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica 7 is on bookstore shelves all over the place—and I know, because I always look. ; ) In fact, I sometimes look at this particular cover for quite a little while.
Oh, and here's where "Slightly Ajar" originally appeared: F is for Fetish, part of amazing Alison Tyler's assiduous alphabet series!

Friendsy
I'm feeling very friendsy indeed! I'm appearing, along with many friends old and new, in the f-in' frisky flash-fiction frolic, Frenzy (forthcoming). It's edited by the phenomenal Alison Tyler—and if you've Got a Minute, you should check out her previous collection of sexy shorts. My Frenzy story is called "You in Your Apricot Panties." (Yes, you.)

Open for Business opens for business!
Hold my calls! I've just had word from editor Alison Tyler's executive suite that Cleis Press has released Open for Business today. Never mind "TGIF"*—I'm counting the minutes till I can clock in to this office environment and, uh, get to work.[*EDIT: Mind you, I don't mean we should ignore the story "TGIF," which is by Saskia Walker and which it would be pure folly to ignore!]
Among the tales of workplace shenanigans, you'll find my story "One Cubicle Over." (For an earlier post in which I drop some juicy intraoffice gossip about who's between the covers with whom, click here.)

Speaking of junk mail
First, a real-life anecdote. Yesterday I was proofreading a new story. In the course of this task, my eyes traversed the following sentence: "Oh, you'd better take your panties off before we get there," said Tina, matter-of-factly.
At that very moment, a piece of "unsolicited commercial e-mail" arrived in my inbox, with the following subject line:
Pull down her panties now
Hmm ... I wonder if the spammer is submitting for the same anthology I am.
But speaking of junk mail ... I'm thinking of starting a mailing list, for anyone who would like to get e-mail updates as to where I'm being published, etc. These would be occasional catch-ups, as opposed to the detailed "news of the moment" approach of this blog. (And the e-mails probably wouldn't be as whimsical, and they would of course be missing all your fun and great comments. So for the "full experience," the blog is still the way to go.) I would also use it for especially time-sensitive announcements, such as if I'm guest-blogging somewhere TODAY (or, what with the time difference, TOMORROW).
My feelings won't be hurt if you don't sign up for this—it's just an option I thought I'd offer for anyone who's kind enough to want to follow my scent but who prefers e-mail to bloghopping or RSS.
If you'd like to sign up, please send an e-mail to jerotic AT gmail DOT com, with the subject line "pull down her panties now." Sorry—that should read: If you'd like to sign up, please send an e-mail to jerotic AT gmail DOT com, with the subject line "subscribe me, Jeremy."
You know, the more I think about it, I bet that wasn't spam at all. It was probably just a routine e-mail from Alison Tyler.

Coming: Satisfaction
Watch this space for the release of Satisfy Me, coming later this summer from Xcite Books. My story "Any Friend of Hers" will be found between its cheeks. Er—sorry! Between its covers. If you need me, I'll be here, staring at her round—I mean, uh, watching this space.
