Sunday Night Fever!

This Sunday, May 31, is Oysters & Chocolate night at Madame X in New York!

I'll be sharing the spotlight that evening with Aimee Herman and Ilsa Laslow, as each of us read several of our erotic pieces (and sign copies of Oysters & Chocolate: Erotic Stories of Every Flavor, which will be available for sale at the event).

Admission is free (21+), and we hope you'll drop by if you're in or near New York and you're up for some sexy Sunday night fun! Our literary frolicking begins at 7:30 p.m.

Madame X is at 94 W. Houston St. (between LaGuardia Pl. and Thompson St.). The drinks menu looks orgasmic!

Hot in the City

I had a fabulous time at In the Flesh Thursday night! From novelist Anna David's riveting revelations over salad and drinks; to Robin Glasser's smokin' "three's a crowd" bedroom scene (plus bawdy rhymes!); to Mara Altman's beautiful and sweetly funny anal enlightenment; to witty designer Craig Yoe's wrly framed slideshow of Joe "Superman" Shuster's porn; to Suzanne Guillette's introspectively, compellingly romantic tale of (literal) sparring ... well, as you can see, I was surrounded by incredible talent—including, of course, host Rachel Kramer Bussel.

Speaking of talent, I had the additional pleasure and privilege of hanging out that evening with writer friends cerulean, EllaRegina, Erobintica, and Aimee Herman, and of course writer lover spouse partner Helia Brookes. What a multifaceted treat!

And speaking of treats (how do you like my segues?) ... the next evening, Helia and I caught Aimee's amazing reading at New York's LGBT Community Center. The woman is on fire, and I can't wait to share the stage with her on May 31 at Madame X.

Getting back to In the Flesh: I had a blast reading from my contribution to Oysters & Chocolate: Erotic Stories of Every Flavor, and I'm very grateful to Rachel for having me again at her awesome event. In addition to hearing all the fantastic work that my fellow readers presented, it was great meeting them—all super nice people. (This was my second time reading with Anna, and it was a joy getting to be on a team with her again.)

Event Sandwich!

Actually, with today sandwiched between last night's Erotic Literary Salon in Philadelphia and tomorrow night's In the Flesh in New York, the events are technically the bread, with the in-between day the portabello mushroom or whatever. So the metaphor really doesn't work, because in this case the bread slices (i.e., the events) are more exciting than what's between them (i.e., the in-between day with travel and no events). So screw this sandwich metaphor crap. Forget I said anything about sandwiches. What's a sandwich? Never heard of the chap.

Anyway, I had a truly delightful time at the salon last night—what a warm, welcoming environment for the celebration of sexy literature! Huge thanks to salonniere Susana Mayer for inviting me to do my thing* on her stage. And I got to hear the beautiful, exciting, and inventive erotic writings of the salon regulars.

*To read my work aloud, that is. I'm not a sexual contortionist.

I'm so thrilled to be returning to In the Flesh tomorrow! The lineup includes novelist Anna David (Bought, Party Girl), memoirist Mara Altman (Thanks for Coming), erotica writers Jeremy Edwards (hi!) and Robin Glasser (My Life as a Concubine), memoirist Suzanne Guillette (Much to Your Chagrin), Blaise K (host, How I Learned Reading Series), and Craig Yoe (Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman’s Co-creator Joe Shuster). Illustrious host Rachel Kramer Bussel is urging people to get there by 7:30 for the best chance of getting seats. (Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the event begins at 8:00.)

In the Flesh takes place at Happy Ending Lounge, 302 Broome St. (between Forsyth and Eldridge; look for the "XIE HE Health Club" awning). Admission is free, with free snacks to boot! Click here for more info.

Frisky Little Philly

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday, May 19, I'll be making the first of my three live appearances to help promote Oysters & Chocolate: Erotic Stories of Every Flavor! The mini-tour kicks off in Philadelphia, at the Erotic Literary Salon (which is celebrating its first anniversary). I'm very honored to be a part of this program.

Here are snippets from the event's press release (to read it in full, go here):

Philadelphia’s Erotic Literary Salon ... featuring writer Jeremy Edwards reading from his short story “Human” and signing the new book in which it appears. He will also discuss the Erotic Power of Minutiae: How Small Descriptive Details, Minor Epiphanies, and Brief Utterances Can Play Big Roles in the Context of Erotic Literature ...

In Jeremy’s story, a man’s relationship with the woman he adores quickly evolves from awe to intimacy, through the power of emotional and sexual revelation. Copies of Oysters & Chocolate, signed by Jeremy, will be available for purchase at the Salon ...

Monthly salons gather the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the charming entertainment venue of L’Etage, 624 S. 6th St., entrance on Bainbridge Street, just south of Center City Philadelphia. The Erotic Literary Salon allows men and women a "safe space" to hear and present original and favorite authors’ erotic words ...

Salons attract a supportive audience of 45 and more individuals, while usually a dozen or more authors and readers recite erotica ... Lily, our resident nonagenarian (92 years young) often recites her original erotica.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. (limited seating), for cocktails, food and conversation. The event begins promptly at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $10, discounted for F/T students and seniors (65+) to $8. Salon attendees ages 21+ are invited to recite original or favorite erotica; share distinctive authors, books, and websites; and join in friendly discussions—all pertaining to this most intimate and human of literary genres.

Salonnière Susana Mayer, who holds a Doctor of Human Sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, is Philadelphia’s best-known sexologist and a specialist in challenges of the libido—human sexual desire/arousal—and enhancement of intimacy and joy through “outercourse”: creation of a personal eroticism.

Bluebird of webbiness

I now have a website. It's nothing fancy, though it does feature some of my favorite shades of blue. I call it http://www.jeremyedwardserotica.com/ . It's still "under construction" in that the photos are yet to come (in July).

Most of the Jeremy action, on a week-by-week and sometimes even day-by-day basis, will still be here at my blog. (There is a tab on the website labeled "Blog," but—haha—that just takes you right back here. Maybe that's even where you came from. Heck, if you're the carnival-going type, you can ride the blog-website-blog-website-blog ride for as long as you like at no charge.)

Huge thanks to my partner-in-everything Helia Brookes for—well, for everything, always ... but most specifically here, for assistance with much of the techie stuff!

Sex, Seattle, Sorensen

Okay, first things first. "Where's the sex?" you ask. Well, one place you'll find sex is in a new piece of mine called "The Fabric," which is now live at Clean Sheets. (Hmm ... "piece ... fabric" brings to mind swatches—or lint.) This is the story that was recently featured in the literary showcase at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival. So there's yer Seattle—in the very same paragraph with the sex!

But I think gifted eroticist Craig J. Sorensen deserves his own paragraph—especially because I don't want him to get all linty. Craig is in the new issue of Clean Sheets, too. And off I go to read his story!

May Mini-Tour!

Oysters & Chocolate: Erotic Stories of Every Flavor (which contains a story of mine called "Human") comes out tomorrow—yay! And, as I've hinted (well, more than hinted: stated outright), I'll be participating in some live events later this month to help promote the book. I'm really looking forward to this!

Here are some particulars (for those of you who are particular):

On Tuesday, May 19, I will be featured at Philadelphia's Erotic Literary Salon, reading from "Human" and discussing "The Erotic Power of Minutiae: How Small Descriptive Details, Minor Epiphanies, and Brief Utterances Can Play Big Roles in the Context of Erotic Literature." The salon, hosted by Susana Mayer and held at an elegant venue called L’Etage (which I think is affiliated with a crêperie!) at 624 S. 6th St. (entrance on Bainbridge), is a unique and wonderful event that offers cocktails, food, conversation, and an opportunity for attendees to read their work to the group! Doors open at 7:30 p.m. (note: limited seating), and the program officially begins at 8:30. 21+; admission $10 ($8 for F/T students and seniors [65+]). For full details, visit the Erotic Literary Salon blog.

On Thursday, May 21, I will be reading an excerpt from "Human" as part of Rachel Kramer Bussel's legendary New York reading series In the Flesh, where I've had the honor of reading once before, and where a fabulous time is always to be had! The lineup this time includes Anna David, Mara Altman, Robin Glasser, Suzanne Guillette, Blaise K, and Craig Yoe. In the Flesh takes place at Happy Ending Lounge, 302 Broome St. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and readings begin at 8:00 (arrival by 7:30 is recommended for those wanting seats). Admission is free, and free snacks and other goodies abound! For full details, visit the In the Flesh blog.

On Sunday, May 31, I'll be reading from "Human" and other Jeremy stories as part of an Oysters & Chocolate night at Madame X in New York, which will feature Aimee Herman and Ilsa Laslow in addition to yours truly! 21+/7:30 p.m./free admission. Madame X, at 94 W. Houston St., looks like a lovely, luscious lounge.

Books will be available for purchase at all these events.

Alicia's Music

Well, it's music to my ears, anyway. ; )

If you want to know what the treble I'm talking about, pop over to Donna's place, where auditeurism is the mot juste!

Thank you, Donna Georges des Belles Histoires!

Slip into Scarlet!

The May issue of Scarlet is out; and this month's "Cliterature" supplement includes a Jeremy mini-story entitled "Slip through My Door"!

Music seems to have been in the air lately, and this new piece of mine is on that theme as well. I even got to invent a vintage 1930s song for this story (also, not-so-coincidentally, called "Slip through My Door").

I'm thrilled to be in Scarlet again. Thanks, Scarlet!

P.S. Reminder: The Seattle Erotic Art Festival begins today.
