Hot in the City

I had a fabulous time at In the Flesh Thursday night! From novelist Anna David's riveting revelations over salad and drinks; to Robin Glasser's smokin' "three's a crowd" bedroom scene (plus bawdy rhymes!); to Mara Altman's beautiful and sweetly funny anal enlightenment; to witty designer Craig Yoe's wrly framed slideshow of Joe "Superman" Shuster's porn; to Suzanne Guillette's introspectively, compellingly romantic tale of (literal) sparring ... well, as you can see, I was surrounded by incredible talent—including, of course, host Rachel Kramer Bussel.

Speaking of talent, I had the additional pleasure and privilege of hanging out that evening with writer friends cerulean, EllaRegina, Erobintica, and Aimee Herman, and of course writer lover spouse partner Helia Brookes. What a multifaceted treat!

And speaking of treats (how do you like my segues?) ... the next evening, Helia and I caught Aimee's amazing reading at New York's LGBT Community Center. The woman is on fire, and I can't wait to share the stage with her on May 31 at Madame X.

Getting back to In the Flesh: I had a blast reading from my contribution to Oysters & Chocolate: Erotic Stories of Every Flavor, and I'm very grateful to Rachel for having me again at her awesome event. In addition to hearing all the fantastic work that my fellow readers presented, it was great meeting them—all super nice people. (This was my second time reading with Anna, and it was a joy getting to be on a team with her again.)

Yes, I haven't been to NYC in almost a decade but it was worth going in to meet you and Helia. Thanks for having dinner with Erobintica and and thanks for getting us the best seats in the house.
