Looking to the rear, looking to the fore
Actually, my rear is conspicuously absent in this photo taken of my In the Flesh: L.A. reading earlier this month. That's because this was a "Phone Sex" reading. I love the way host and photographer Stan Kent has captured the drama of my ass's absence, both in this picture and in his write-up: "With microphone hovering phallic-like over my cellphone ..." To read Stan's full account of the evening and view the whole batch of photos, visit the ITF:L.A. blog.
Looking ahead ... the blog tour celebrating the release of Swing! has one more swinging week to go! I'll be bringing up the rear (yes, we're back where we started) this Thursday, April 30. My interview and excerpt will be posted right here at Socks/Fedora central.

"...With microphone hovering phallic-like over my (Jeremy's)cellphone ...."
Nice.
Fabulous, Jeremy!
Hi, Neve! Actually, that's Stan's phone. And the mic and I are just good friends. ; )
It's quite a threatening looking microphone, I thought - sort of Looming. Hope it didn't make you too nervous.
;-)

Wow, Robin! You sure know how to verify!
Hope it didn't make you too nervous.**
I just imagined it was an ice-cream cone.
Though it's by no means your best portrait (or even your best angle), I do think the photo captures that intangible "something" ... that indefinable charm, that buoyant disposition, that airy elegance your writing embodies. ;-)
Wow, thank you, Confidant!
I'm having some pictures taken this summer, and—hmm—maybe we should do some of them this way. (I wonder if I get a reduced rate if I don't appear in some of my portraits.)
When you were reading in the female character's previously depicted as pink register, she was giving that mic head, since it represents "your"/the/her mouth. :-)
Yeah—I think if you look closely, you can see a bit of lipstick on the mic.
She could have wiped it off! Dirty girlie. ;-)
Oh, and I totally agree with Confidant, every word.

Confidant is SO right. This is definitely a photo op for the press kit, Jeremy!
Thanks, Donna!
I guess it's appropriate that a chair would "sit" for a portrait, isn't it?
Nice ass, J!
Aw, I bet you say that to all the empty chairs.
