Thank You

Yesterday was one of the most wonderful days of my life.

Now, I've been fortunate in terms of having encountered a lot of wonderful days, of various kinds. (In fact, thanks to my being with the person I'm with, even ordinary days around here are pretty wonderful!) But even in a life full of wonderful days, my book-release day was one of the most especially, memorably, over-the-top wonderful ones.

And it was you folks who put it over the top. Way, way over.

As the Rock My Socks Off official release date approached, I was very, very excited, of course. But I was also aware that official release days can be a little arbitrary in the modern publishing world. It's just the nature of the beast: a date is set, but when things are going smoothly the book actually becomes available a little prior to that. And no complaints about that! Thanks to my fabulous publisher, Xcite Books, things went super smoothly, and I had the thrill of seeing RMSO come into stock at both online and brick-and-mortar shops a few weeks ago. But this, I realized, might inevitably mean that the official release date could feel a little anticlimactic.

But, thanks to you, this was the opposite of that.

Once upon a time, one of my efforts (not erotica) saw an overseas release that was sort of a "big deal" to me (by my humble standards). This was before the Internet really took off. There was no easy way for the people "over there" who were excited about my release to communicate with me (and there was also somewhat of a language barrier). Consequently, the whole thing had a certain "unreal" feeling to me—like this exciting, important thing in my life was happening somewhere far away, and I couldn't really see it or participate in it or fully experience it.

And this was the opposite of that.

Whether relatively near or far in geographical terms, all of you made sure that my book-release day felt like a big deal. Not only did you populate my party with the most incredible bounty of praise, enthusiasm, liveliness, sparkle, and hijinks, but many of you generously decided to use your own blogs to promote my special day. (I don't know whether those were all done independently or a behind-the-scenes angel coordinated things—either way, you're all angels.)

This was huge for me, folks.

Huge.

I love you.
